Murder Princess Manga - Sweet but incomplete

The anime and manga are two different entities; both are good. The manga explains some things the anime doesn't, and has a very different ending... but it also doesn't really resolve anything at all. ^^; we never even find out who the real mastermind IS, yet alone see them defeated.

Nyan Koi! - jumpy, but cute

It started off a bit too jumpy, for me, always introducing new characters... but once they settled in, it developed a pretty decent plot. :) I think it's enjoyable, though you should probably ignore what they say about a season 2. I haven't seen one. ;_;

Dragon's Deal

Decent, but with some problems; nothing major, just realizing - once in a while - that the story is a little off; probably because one of the authors died. ;_; Hopefully they make another - this one ended in a bit of a cliff hanger. ^^;

Murder Princess

Okay, forget the name for a moment. Really, do it. (Now.)

I went into this expecting an amusing little anime - but it's more than that. It's... sweet. And sad. ;_;

The princess is a little too sweet- like I said, ignore the name - but I think it works for her. Her desire to protect everyone is almost mary suish, but the determination she goes at it with offsets it a little, for me.

And the bounty hunter... She seemed a little bit too quick to agree with the princess when collateral was offered, but it's explainable. They had just switched bodies after all, for one thing. Plus, her reasons for being a bounty hunter in the first place didn't exactly come down to greed...

It would be have been nice to have a longer anime where she could have shifted over time, but it was still nice to see her basically become a better, happier person for this.

I'd have liked to learn how she met her original companions - I'd have liked to hear more about them in general. But still, it's a pretty good anime; plus, it's only six episodes! I don't care how stingy you are, you can take the time to watch six episodes. :P (It's all on hulu, people!)

I'm gonna go watch Nyan Koi, next, so I'll tell ya what I think about after. :P

Oh, and I saw Tron Legacy!

I enjoyed it a lot, actually - but it did have its issues. (Potentially slight spoilers, but no names or real plot points given)

For one thing, the plot growth seemed... flat. I'm not saying th emovie ITSELF was flat (other than being 2D. Bad pun, I know. ^^; ) just that...

The average plot line is supposed to have steadily climbing action that leads to a resolution and then slows down. This...actually, this started with action, calmed down, jumped up, and basically just kept around the same from there. it was a good plot and a great movie, but there was no real climbing excitement - it stayed level.

Slight spoiler-

They killed WAY too many people. Not gonna go into real spoilers, just saying there was a lot of deaths. It felt sort of like they were trying to clean up after the first one - and the way it ended makes me feel like a sequel would be cleaning up after THIS one, maybe.

Basic take on the story (warning - might give you enough of a hint to figure out something of the end.)

It wasn't particularly heart warming at the end. They did make it so that anything newly done can be separated almost entirely from the first movie, but.. it seems a bit like that was the point. They just wanted to get all the plot points out of the way and take care of things in one movie, while laying the basic basis for anything new, without really creating something entirely new...

I'm bored - have a blog!

Okay, so maybe there are some more technical reasons for this. Deeply technical - and important!

...Please feel free to guess at them, and I'll tell you if you're right. :P

Really, this is just an area for me to babble about movies, animes, and mangas - all the things my watchers may be tired of hearing about back on dA. Or not! We'll see if any of them choose to watch me. :P

Actually, I'll probably continue to post most of these over there, but this is an added way to branch out. :)
